May 2009. "What a peaceful haven. The cuckoo calling. The sparrows twittering - not online! The cows chewing the cud. The views of Clare mountains boasting. The leaves dappling. The fire crackling. Feels like being in 1970's John Hinde postcard - only the kids don't have red hair! Highlights were the epic coastal walk from Spiddal to Furbo, with Padraicin's at the end for a pint; seeing the Red Arrows in the Bay; meandering across the fields at the back of the cottage...dodging cow pats and scram, bling up the big blocks of granite; seeing Hot House Flowers live (and free!) at the Volvo extravaganza; catching the rays at Tra Mor beach just past Spiddal; a day's tuition fly fishing, jogging down the Bog Road; playing with Sham and most importantly breathing deep and smiling a lot! Thanks for a wonderful time....we'll be back!" Orla, Julian, Jessica & Sorcha, London
July 2009. "What a superb week! The cottage lived up to all our expectations. One of the most relaxing and peaceful holidays we've ever had. The view across Galway Bay day & night was spectacular. The fire in the evening was a real bonus. The garden was a paradise for the children - all those rocks and crannies to hide in. We would recommend visiting Brigit's Garden and Aillwee Cave. The Corrib River Cruise was well worth doing. Thank you Kevin & Anne for your hospitality on our arrival - a lovaly touch" Pat, Kathleen, Rory, Katie & Mary, Co. Down.
August 2009. "Many many thanks Kevin for choosing to rent out your beautiful cottage and allowing us live 'briefly in thios special place! Returning 'home' each evening was a pur joy and made this 'Irish Summer' much less depressing. Our smallies had a ball, they both loved their 'little' room and spent many an hour up there playing away. The highlights of the week included our trip to St Brigits Gardens, Peaks Funfair, a Corrib cruise and of course buiding sand castles, - braving the elements with buckets and spades at the ready! Lighting the stove each evening, a glass of wine in hand, smallies fast asleep, ensured we experienced the ancient and dying art of 'doing nothing'!! Thanks so much again for this summer memory. Best regards" Yvonne, Jonathon, Rodhan & Aoife, Co. Wicklow.
August 2009. "A truly memorable week for all of us: -Jeanne fell in love with the donkey, -Baptiste & Jolenn had fun with the two dogs, -Theophiole built his summer camp in the meadow, -my wife Berangere enjoyed the garden & the flowers, -and I had a feast with blackberries. Most of all - the six of us loved this beautifully restored Irish cottage - coming back "home" every night was just delicious. And say nothing of the fire crackling in the stove! Bravo for making this 'rest'. We'll let other "French Dubliners" know there's this part of Heaven here in Galway. Best regards" Philipe, Berangere & the kids. Dublin
September 2009. "What a wonderful place to spend some nicwe vacations. Calm, cozy, with a breathtaking view and as lovely as the neighbours. Every time we followed the road from or to An Tigin they waved us hello. You don't get that stuff back in Portugal! We had a very good time exploring all we could, and we will surely be back as soon as we get thje chance. We loved spending afternoons by the fire after a good morning stroll. The only thing better was coming "home" from a night in Galway. Thanks for sharing this little piece of heaven!! Beast regards. P.S. Say hello to "Mr New Zealand" up the road and to his donkey, Nell". Priscaila, Edgar, and three more from Portugal.
September 2009. "A great littel place for home base. We left early and came home late most of the time but enjoyed the cozy feeling of the place. Knicknamed the little bedroom upstairs as the Kiebler Elf room, or the Alice in Wonderland room. This part of Ireland is so beautiful. We managed a night of Pub Crawling which was great - Hope to do more before we head back home to the U.S.A.. Off today to the Dingle area where we will be till the 25th then on to Dublin for a few days. Thanks Kevin for opening your thatched cottage to us" Mary, Donna Sharon, Bette, Heather & Pam. Six lovely ladies from California.
